Abstract:
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an international call to action to save the environment, fight climate change, end poverty, and ensure that everyone has access to prosperity and a high standard of living. The next few years are critical in determining the planet's future and ensuring that people can familiarize themselves with climate change issues. Finance plays a key role in achieving the SDGs. Economists and financial experts have always emphasized the importance of finance, considering it the lifeblood of the economy. Banks contribute significantly to achieving SDGs worldwide by mobilizing resources and allocating funds to sustainable banking and financial institutions. This study aims to investigate the contribution of banks and financial institutions to Agenda agenda-2030. For this purpose, researchers used a bibliometric analysis of the existing literature through Biblioshiny in R and VOS viewer, version 1.6.20, covering the period 2018–2024. This period was chosen to study the existing literature on how banks began contributing to the achievement of the 17 SDGs. The study employed various approaches to identify research trends, including an analysis of keywords, effective researchers, and journals. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to study the contributions of the top authors to the field and the most cited works using the Scopus database.
