Abstract:
The Separately Excited DC Motor superior speed control capabilities and simplicity of usage make it a popular choice for industrial applications. In applications requiring quick stops or reversals, DC motors offer high starting and decelerating torque. DC motors are ideal for controlling speed over a wide range, which is simple to do. Three different methods are used in this work to start an independently triggered DC motor: (i) Gradually raising and lowering the voltage until it reaches a steady value (controlled voltage). (ii) Starting using a direct starter (iii) Starting with a step resistance starter. In this MATLAB Simulink study, the effects of machine features such as torque (Te), armature current (Ia), and rotational speed (ω) on the three (3) techniques will also be investigated
